Just keep trying and it will eventually work around 3 or 5 tries. Could maybe simply be down to compatiability with proton. tried experimental and 6.3-8. any older and the game just wont start. I've had issues with windows clients connecting to a windows host. Restarting the windows host usually resolved them.
