I have been to both the cities and find them both moving. With Prague its more compact and has a well defined audio guide available for rent from the Jewish Center. Budapest is also good especially the Shoes on the Danube is moving. If you have the time to visit only one i would vote for Prague. Best Regards, Rishi.
Prague to Vienna to Budapest via the train is an awesome trip and super easy. Budapest is very similar to Prague I found, but bigger. Vienna has some amazing places to look at but is more expensive than both Prague and Budapest by a fair way!
I would add the days to Berlin, Prague, or Budapest. Sounds like the last 2 makes most sense. Plus Salzburg/Innsbruck are a ways out. If you want to cut that 8 hour rail trip add in Bratislava for 1 day only and add a day to Prague or Budapest. Posted by Steve. Richmond, Virginia, USA. 10/24/11 11:26 PM. 345 posts. As I'm sure you know, Salzburg and Budapest are entirely different - Budapest is large, busy, congested, while Salzburg is small and compact. There are more things to see in Budapest, thus taking more time to cover.
Personally, I love Prague far better than Bucharest. Prague (to me) is more beautiful. Bucharest is more gray. Seems like everything is under construction. I have been to each country 3 times. I will be in Bucharest most of July, 2010. Last year I traveled Romania, and I especially loved the villages and Mara Mures area.
The best time of year for Madrid is late spring (Jun/Jul) or early autumn. Madrid can be surprisingly chilly in the winter, but is comparatively drier and milder than the rest of northern Europe. As Madrid is in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, it tends to get more extreme weather than the coastal cities.
1) In your opinion, which city is better to visit – we’re mostly interested in seeing historic sights, castles, churches, etc., going to the pub and maybe catching a performance or two. (And which is the best to visit in the winter.) 2) I know that hotels in Prague are more expensive than in Budapest, but how does food, entertainment
My husband and I are planning a 10 day trip to Budapest, Salzberg, Vienna and Prague. Which city is the best to fly into from Los Angeles, in terms of cheapest flights, best international airport Ultimately, both Budapest and Prague are well worth visiting–these are gorgeous, historical European capital cities that both deserve your time and attention. If you have to choose Prague or Budapest, though, there are definite costs and benefits to each–and for every person who has visited both, you’ll likely run into a stubborn opinion eI1wf4s.
