Huge average mall. Aug 2021. Mall of Antalya is at the northern suburbs, just off the freeway if you're driving from the eastern resorts and it's close to the airport. The mall is huge, the biggest in all southern Turkey - free ground and underground parking. You must have a Turkish HES code to enter it - a digital proof for Covid. Save. Don't bring any Turkish Lira! Take some out from the ATM outside arrivals in Antalya Airport. the rate will be better than anything possible in the UK. For tourist-oriented things, prices are in Euros. Be aware of the TL to Euro rate and barter them down in Lira. You will always get a better price in Lira.

The best thing to do is take a small amount of Turkish lira, to cover 1st day expenses, but take sterling to change in Turkey for lira as you will get much better exchange rates there. Then use those lira to buy what you want , or need.

Having fixed prices in Euros and is standard procedure the length of the Antalya coast in every locale, except in the city itself and inland towns. Practically all taxi ranks have 'A boards' displaying the fixed rates in Euros to the most common destinations and refuse to use their meters.
There are a collection of ATMs at arrivals at Antalya airport in case you want cash to tip your driver, bellboy etc. before getting to an ATM near the hotel. Changing Sterling to Lira in the UK is about the worst thing you could possibly do. The rates/charges compared to a fee-free card are almost as bad as income tax!

There's the Canarys of course, evenings a bit cooler there, but so many other holidays are available. I dont get the attraction of a place like Egypt, history excluded, but even These are the choices: 1. Credit and Debit Cards - The easiest and the cheapest. These are, hands down, the cheapest and most convenient way to pay for things and to get cash in the UK as long as you use them correctly. Consider the pros and cons.

10. Re: Best currency to take to Turkey. That's really kind, and thank you very much. When we went to Antalya in April we found that it didn't really matter what currency you had as they took everything - Turkish Lira, sterling, euros, dollars.
